Not feeling the baby move as much

I felt the baby at 10 weeks, I'm 16 weeks now. I would feel little flutters, taps a lot throughout the day , but I feel like I don't feel the baby as much this past few days, I actually barely feel anything, sometimes I'll drink something sweet just to see what will happen and most times it doesn't do anything. I felt a little something last night, but it was just a few tiny little taps , barely felt them so not even sure if it was gas or the baby.
I'm seeing my dr next week and they will do a sono, but so worried, I hope everything is ok Chat Icon
Has this happened to anyone ? Just wondering if it's possible to feel the baby a lot some days, especially in the beggining and not feel as much later on.

i think so.. and i think there are also days where they dont move as much. If im correct, i think it is 28 weeks when they becmoe more consistent adn you have to count. i may be off by a week or two.. but it is much further along..

Let me update this as well- when in doubt if you are ever concerned about this, please do not hesitate to contact your physician. sorry for not mentioning that sooner.. not to be alarmed, just for your own piece of mind.

Re: Not feeling the baby move as much

It has been happening to me at almost 30 weeks! Last Friday I had cramps and just wasn't feeling well. Saturday morning, I didn't fell her move at all. By noon we called the Dr and he said it was probably fine and to go to Winthrop just to get checked out.

Turns out she flipped over and turned horizontal and was holding her feet above her head!!! Even though she is bigger I can't feel her when she lays like that. There are other days where she feels like she is punching a speed bag. Lol.

you probably weren't feeling the baby at 10w - you were probably feeling the stretch of your uterus. the baby is like the size of an olive or apricot or something at that time.

for me i felt definite flutters around 16w and then didn't feel a thing again until 20w (and i def got nervous about not feeling anything). but after 20w i felt it consistently. i had an anterior placenta but it never stopped me from feeling movement because i felt tons of kicks. so much so that i didnt know i had an anterior placenta until i delivered.

That's what I thought at first , but it was definitely the baby I was feeling at 10 weeks , they confirmed with a sonogram, I go every 2 weeks since I'm high risk and they do a sono each time. My dr said lots of women feel their 2n very early on , especially if they felt teh first one early, which I did.
That's why I got worried , I felt it a lot bewteen 10w and 15w but this past 3 days not as much. Although I have to say today the baby has been very active again so I feel a bit better. I guess some days are more active then others Chat Icon

Re: Not feeling the baby move as much

You're so early to be feeling consistent movement. With my first pregnancy, I was feeling a lot of flutters for a few weeks (starting at 15 weeks) and then didn't feel much movement for a few days. It's normal. Your uterus is still stretching a lot and the baby may be in a spot or position where it's harder to feel movement. I wouldn't worry. Chat Icon
