Breaking up with your hairdresser

I think I need a new stylist, and I feel very guilty about it. For the past five years or so I've gone to the same person and it occurred to me that while she does what I ask, it just always looks a little "off." Last fall I could not get in to see her and I went to someone else, and my hair came out wonderfully. Out of obligation I got my next cut at my regular person, and...eh. She is very nice, and I always get a good cut, but I feel like I always look dowdy.

Tell me not to feel bad. Chat Icon And if I run into her somewhere, what do I say?

I just stopped going to one that I was going to for 10 years. I felt the same way. But I just wasn't happy. Ya just have to cut the cord and don't look back Chat Icon

Eta: if I run into her I'm just going to say it got too expensive for me that's all

I stopped going to a hairdresser I went to for 10 years. I found one who had better hours & got my color done in less than 1/2 the time.

I didn't say anything to her, just stopped going. It felt kind of strange to me too.

I asked my new hairdresser if she thought I should call her. She said "you can but be prepared that she may say she's able to accommodate you on x days or if you talk about price, she may offer to lower it. If you really don't want to go back, I wouldn't call. If you're looking to negotiate or see if she can work with you, then make the call."

So I never called & like the others, never looked back.

Don't feel bad, I think they know! It's a service, if you are not happy, then you go where you are. It's not like it's free.
