Crampy feeling at the end

I know this is my 2nd, but my 1st pg was SO different that I can't even compare them, so please bear with me

I'm 37w & as of last week the dr. said that I was 1-2cm & that the baby was already head down & "ready to go." I went 2w early with my first & she said I'm likely to go a little early again, so I know that it can be any day now.

Anyways, yesterday I wasn't in pain, but I started feeling very uncomfortable & crampy. My back hurts, I have a lot more pressure down low & the cramps were consistent most of the day (they're like menstrual cramps). Sometimes they were worse than others, but there weren't breaks - I had them pretty much all day long. So far today is a bit better, but I know that they got worse as the morning went on yesterday. In your experience, could this be the start of something? Or can I just expect to feel this way for another 2 or 3 weeks? Thanks!

This is my first and I've been getting cramps on and off for the past 2 weeks or so (I'm 39w 1d) and I haven't had any progress yet But since you went early with your first, maybe this is the start of something for you. Fingers crossed!

With my first I had all my contractions in my back- similar to what you are describing. I didn't think I was in labor because they weren't what I was expecting- but they were!

No advice, but I am feeling the same way! This is my second too and with my first my water broke 2 weeks early without any other symptoms. I am now 38 weeks and have been feeling very crampy (consistently) especially in my back, but at times it radiates to the front. However, there is no pattern. Last doctors visit I was 2cm and 80% effaced so Im now just waiting!

I experienced menstrual type cramps for about 24 hours before I went into full blown labor...contractions every 3-5 minutes.

From my experience, you would be close!!

Thanks ladies! I've been doing a bit of reading online & have been seeing the same types of responses - some ladies cramped for 24 hours & went into labor & others had it last for 2+ weeks, so I guess at this point it can mean anything. I keep thinking to myself that I'll probably go past my edd this time since everyone (me, the docs, my family) are expecting me to go early, so I was REALLLLLY hoping that this was a sign

Crashing...Sounds like you are in the very, very early stages of labor! This happened with me when I had my DS, I cramped for a couple of days, started having contractions, and went into labor all within a week I'd say...good luck!!

I will be 38 weeks tomorrow. I also have had bad menstrual type cramping for the past 3 days. I am praying that this is it soon...I am having a hard time dealing with being in pain and uncomfortable. I guess I am just getting inpatient.

AND- my doc doesnt do internals so I have no clue what is going on. I think I am going to request that she do one anyway.
