I think it depends what you are going to be doing. If your going to lounges and clubs you will want to get dressed up, if your just going to do the strip, casinos, and casual bars/restaurants, then jeans a nice top & heels.

The dress you posted is nice, but I wouldn't wear it to a club, maybe to a nice dinner, def not anywhere in the day.

To a club or lounge I like sparkle/shimmer & tight.

Exactly! I figured that dress would be good for the Birthday dinner and if we went to a casino afterward. Not a club. I really DO NOT even want to go to a club out there. I'd rather go casino hopping and bar hopping. Chat Icon

I think sexy when I think Vegas. Wear something form fitting that covers the right spots / highlights the right spots...something you feel confident in. This is not a place for anything more than club clothes.

Yeah, that's pretty much the vision I get when I think of Vegas.

Then what you posted is perfect!
I was the same when we went- I am SOOO not into clubs. We did restaurants, casinos, casual/fun bars- and I never got super dressed up.
I think what you posted is perfect!

Trust me- you don't need to be THAT fancy.
When I was in Vegas nobody was THAT dressed up.
That first dress you posted- would not be for daytime- I would wear that at night though.
I have no idea where you would wear that first dress in the day- everyone on the strip was in shorts and tank tops during the day.

ITA with this also. Just wear what you'd wear going out here. Dresses like the one you posted, nice jeans and nice tops with heels, etc. There's no need to dress up for the casinos at all, and there are plenty of casual bars and spots to go to as well. Have fun and don't stress about clothes! Happy Birthday!

This. I am a jeans kinda girl and never wore any dresses or got dressed up at all the times I have been to Vegas

Re: Soo...help me with what to wear for my 30th in VEGAS!

I live in Vegas and I agree, unless you are going to the hottest club and want to dress up, there is absolutely no need. Jeans, heels and a nice top are more than sufficient for most places at night. You will see your share of people in dresses, some like the ones posted (and many totally slutty) but again, that is an if you want to, not a must issue.

For daytime, anything goes, wear whatever you are comfy in.

Awesome! Thanks for your input. I think I will get dressed up at least one night in a nice dress.

Re: Soo...help me with what to wear for my 30th in VEGAS!

For the daytime you're wearing whatever is comfortable - totally casual.

At night - depends on where you go, but honestly, unless you are one to go all out on a regular basis (and it doesn't sound like you are) you're going to feel uncomfrotable and silly it some sequined tight blingy dress ...........totally unnecessary even IF you DO go to a club -

I am the queen of the LBD and fabulous heels -

But you can totally wear nice jeans too -
I think the dress you posted is perfect for a night out ........

I just got back and wore a dress every night b/c it's what I'm most comfortable in .......most looked similar to that style ....dressed up - but nothing screaming HEY LOOK AT ME I'M IN VEGAS !!

that dress is awesome, i love it. it depends what kind of scene you're going for in vegas. if you're going a little more low-key like coyote ugly, that dress definitely works. if you're going for a place like rain at the palms, you can go a bit more glittery.

eta- love the 2nd dress too! you have great taste!!

The great think about Vegas is anything goes. Poeple come into town from all over the country and world and have different styles. Also depending on what you are doing you don't really have to get super decked out.
If you are going to some of the high end clubs, a cute dress and heels is the way to go. I don't know about cocktail dresses (wedding attire) but fun, young looking dresses. There are more laid back clubs and tons of bars where people wiil be in everything from Jeans and tanks to dressed dresses.
The casino floor is a mix of ages, shapes and sizes so you can wear what you like.
Different Casinos have different feels to them too.
I have been to vegas quite a few times. One time 2 years ago was in july and it was so hot I just brought a bunch of cotton tee type dresses. During the day I wore them plain with flat shoes and at night I threw on heels and long chained necklaces with big earrings and did my hair and makeup and went out.

This pretty much says most of what I wanted to say. I didn't read this entire thread so I dont know this- Have you ever been to Vegas? If not, lol oh your in for a true Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon when you see the Vegas strip for the first time. It is my absolute favorite place on this planet. I LOVEEE it there. To sum it up, the previous poster is correct- anything goes. During the day, tanks & flip flops , shorts, sundresses, leggings - all okay. Definitely get some comfortable walking shoes. For the nights.. Check out: Napkin Nights <--- that link to give you an idea of what people are wearing in the clubs / bars. Personally I like to really dress it up at night in Vegas. Thats just me though. Wear what your comfortable in that makes you feel great. I just advise you to get to the clubs really early to get in because the lins can just get insane. You know how to reach me girl if you need to know ANYTHING about Vegas. I have a few friends that live there so I can get the scoop first hand from the local point of view. Chat Icon
