Question about GD
I'm pretty clueless about GD and figured i should probably find out *something* about it. So here i am with a few questions
Is everybody at risk of getting it or only certain people?
Do you feel any differently if you have it or is taking the GD test the only way to find out?
Lastly, can we do anything right now to avoid it (like watch our sugar intake) or is it ultimately not going to affect whether you get GD or not?
TIA!

Re: Question about GD
I can answer your questions as best as I can since I do have GD and diabetes runs in my family.
1- I think in general, yes, everyone can get it but you are more likely to get it if it runs in the family, if you've had it in prior pregnancies and if you are overweight.
2- For me, I would have never known I had it unless I took the test. I feel the same as I did before I found out. Everyone is different though..
3-I think diabetes in general can be controlled. If you exercise and eat right then it most def. can be controlled and maybe even avoided..however, sometimes its just genetic and you will get it regardless.
