has anyone used TRUGREEN?

can you share any personal experience? is it worth it? we bought our house a year ago and now really have the time to start getting the lawn into shape. it has a lot of moss hardly any grass. they quoted us around $700 for the year.

We moved in last spring and used trugreen. Spots started to get bare and we seeded, patched and did everything we could think of. I watered the grass so often throughout the summer. I research what the problem could be and asked them to test for fungus. The tech said he didnt want to dusturb the patch work even though I said we've been trying and nothing grew. Towards the end of the season we spread a fungus deterrant which worked great and hired scotts to do overseeding and aeration. The lawn looks a lot better already. In fact, the areas that were patched several times had to be trimmed because they are growing so much faster! I switched to scotts this year.

we used them a few years ago, and it did help our grass, but their extremely aggressive sales tactics turned us off so we canceled.

We used them for the last 2 years and just canceled service because we are moving.

It really helped our lawn and it looks great. My neighbor up the block said they burned there grass and they switched to another company. I never had any issues.

A couple of houses around me also use Scott's.

Make sure you get the aeration and over seeding by whoever you go with. It gets done in the fall and makes a huge difference. See if they will seed in the spring too.

We used to use them for our old house. Our lawn wasn't terrible when we were treating it ourselves but we knew it could look better. However after using trugreen for almost the whole summer we also found out it could look worse! They weren't able to treat any of our issues and the small areas of bad grass that we had somehow became most of the lawn. And like a pp mentioned, their sales tactics are very annoying and persistant.
