BETA Question
A colleage and friend of mine did IVF for her DS at East Coast Fertility almost 2 years ago. She is now at LI IVF with me and we are both on the same cycle for stimming etc.. She told me that the first Beta they do they do not tell you the results...and then you come back a week later and they repeat the beta and then tell you what it is. She also told me do not do HPT because I will get a false positive. This is my first time with IVF but I thought you would only get a false positive if the HCG trigger is still in your system. I know from past testing, that the trigger takes 9 days to leave my system. Therefore I planned on starting to test on my own at 12dp trigger and 10dp3dt which would be 4/10. My doc has me down for the first betta on 4/18 if they did a FET on 4/3...would they not tell me the results????

Re: BETA Question
I go to LI IVF and they gave me my first beta results but the RE did caution me that so many things can still happen so not until after the 2nd beta will we know more. I tested with a HPT and got a BFP @ 8dp3dt. From what I've read, it takes 8-10 days for the HCG trigger shot to be out of your system. So I think you can def get a true BFP on a HPT.

Re: BETA Question
Trigger will be gone around 10 days after you do it. So at 11-12 dpo (or et), it should be true. My friend said her dr told her not to either because of false positive but my dr never said anything. I got a bfn at 9/10 dp er and NFL 12 dp er (7dp5dt)

Re: BETA Question
I had a faint BFP at 5dp5dt on a FRER and 6dp5dt on digital. My scheduled beta was early compared to the others and we continued them every 48 hrs. I had three.
I always ask for my beta and my progesterone levels.

Re: BETA Question
i dont know that place...but if you time the beta correctly you dont have to keep it a secret until the second...this is weird!!!
you are the patient and paying the doctor to tell you your results. if its an iffy number then of course a week later will tell more... but if you are 14dpo and test neg you are neg. if at 14 dpo you have a beta of 5..which is borderline..you do a beta 2 DAYS later if its up you are preg..if lower you are not.
i dont understand their reasoning to keep you in the dark.
and you will only get a false postivive hpt if you test too soon.
if you do a trigger and wait the correct time..you are fine
