Interviews?
Are suits expected or can you wear separates? Where can I get an affordable suit? I will be working in a clinical setting where I'll be wearing scrubs so I don't want to spend a fortune on something I'm going to wear a few times. Thanks.

Re: Interviews?
JCP has nice reasonable suits. I think for any interview you should wear a suit. Good Luck!

Re: Interviews?
I always say wear a suit. You can get cheap suits at Macys if you check the sales and clearance section. I got a nine west one for about $80

Re: Interviews?
I interview candidates for clinical setting often and I would say only 25% wear suits. I would definitely wear a blouse and slacks or perhaps a coordinating blazer. You want to look professional.
Good luck!

Re: Interviews?
What about a dress and blazer? It's professional, business attire - but not a 'suit' -
You can easily incorporate both into your 'regular' wardrobe -

I agree! But also wanted to add that if you hit a good sale at Macy's and have a coupon you can grab a suit pretty cheap.

Re: Interviews?
Thanks everyone. I'll be on the watch out for a suit. I do have nice black pants so maybe I can find something to go with them.

Re: Interviews?
So fustrating!! I went to Macy's, JC Pennys, Lane Bryant, Dillards & Dress Barn & got nothing!! I am a plus size but there where just no suits out there. So I guess I'll try to shop online. Can I get away with nice dress pants & a nice blouse/button down shirt as a back up plan? Or maybe I nice cardigan?

Re: Interviews?
I would just look for a blazer that goes with something you already have. It doesn't have to match--if you have gray pants, you can wear a navy blazer, etc.
Did you try the Avenue? You could do something like this but with pants if you don't have a skirt since it's not a corporate environment.

Re: Interviews?
i think in healthcare if you are not taking a position which requires a suit it is suitable to wear a button down and slacks it can also be a good excuse to get a blazer it can come in handy for conferences etc

ditto. the ones in suits stand out as being serious. you wouldn't believe the crap clinicians walk in wearing
