Triggering with 1/2 dose (5000 units of novarel)
I have around 15 follicles and about 1/2 of them are measuring around 20. I was instructed to trigger tonight with 1/2 of the novarel hcg. They said my e2 spiked up (3400) so I guess they want to avoid hyper stimulation. I have been monitored very closely but am still feeling a little anxious that the lesser dose will nit be as effective. Has anyone had a similar experience??? I also want to add that I only stimmed for 9 days and respond quickly if this makes a difference.
My retrieval is scheduled for Saturday morning

Same thing happened to me. My e2 was about 4000 so I was told to trigger with 5,000 units of hcg. I was nervous about it bc I had only triggered with 10,000 units in previous cycles. But, we got 9 mature eggs out of 14 follicles and all 9 fertilized. This is from only one ovary and was the most number of embryos ive gotten from a cycle. Some girls trigger with Lupron only too. Try not to worry- the docs know what they are doing. Good luck!

This makes me feel better. THANK YOU!!! I hate to admit it but I was debating on adding just a little more to my dose (like 6000  ).

I triggered with 5000 units also although they never told me why....I just went with it. I had 18 follicles and 26 eggs and I think 20 of them fertilized. Are you taking a pregnancy test tomorrow? It will double check that the trigger worked. Gl!

ive triggered with half a dose of novarel for a timed intercourse cycle. its just as effective and will lessen the chance of OHSS. good luck!
