Re: Girls with GD on insulin please come in
I had the same thing, but they put me on glyburide...so I have to take 2 pills every night.... Not sure about the insulin, there is someone else on the board who is on it though!

Re: Girls with GD on insulin please come in
This was me 2 weeks ago!
At about 20 weeks, my fasting would waver between 85-95. When I got 3 consistent fastings between 90-95, my nutritionist insisted that i had to go on medication. She was pushing hard for insulin but after some research, I told her I'd rather try glyburide first.
Now I take 1 glyburide every night with my snack (been doing it for the last 2 weeks when I was 21w2d) and my morning #'s are great. I go between 65-80 and find the mornings less stressful, since I know I'm nowhere near the 90 mark.
The peri and nutritionist keep reminding me it's only going to get harder as the pregnancy progresses and they think that I will eventually have to switch over to insulin as the numbers will rise again.
Not looking forward to that.

Re: Girls with GD on insulin please come in
Whjy not staerrt with glyburide first? This is what I did. And it helped until I progressed and then added insulin. If u do take insulin and don't need it I would think ur sugars would go to low ? Talk to the doc and sewe xo
