I have read that the rooms are getting run down. The activities are fun from what I hear though. They sometimes have deals on Travelzoo. Right now the Coco Key in Orlando is on Groupon getaways.

Re: Anyone ever stay at Nickelodeon Resort in Florida?
I've never stayed there, but my niece and nephew did. I saw the pictures from their trip and I was not impressed. The character theming is nice, but I did notice in the pictures that the place looked a little run down. I figured it would be along the lines of a Disney value hotel, but it really wasn't. The Disney hotels in my experience are impeccably clean and well-kept and show remarkably little wear for places that have kids climbing all over everything 24/7. The Nick hotel had worn carpets and the pool looked like a mess.
It's rated pretty low on trip advisor. I'd skip it. If you like the big kid-friendly theming, go for a Disney resort. If you don't care about the theming in particular, then you have literally hundreds of better options in the Orlando area.
Good Luck!
ETA: I looked at TripAdvisor and the reviews are REALLY mixed. Some of the pics make the rooms look great, and some make it look really gross.
How about Disney's Art of Animation? I think that's the closest in terms of icons and layout. They don't have that awesome waterslide and the green slime though!

Re: Anyone ever stay at Nickelodeon Resort in Florida?
We went to the Nikelodeon Hotel in February for 1 night and we combined it with Legoland ( which was great)
The kids had a fantastic time there, for me that is all that matters......
The rooms need to be updated. We had a 3 bedroom suite. The rooms were spacious but a little rundown. The food was not great but i did not ecpect it to be..... The characters were around and the pools were amazing...... MY kids were in the pool all day..... We did the Character breakfast in the am.

I took a long and hard look at the Nick Resort. 3yo DS is much more of a Nick Jr fan than a Disney fan.
We ultimately decided against it because the rooms are run down. Everything I read makes it sound like a motel. I won't do well if I don't feel comfortable in the room.

I'm okay with a bit run down as long as it's clean and not ridicously priced. We probably won't eat there so I'm not concerned about the cost of food. As long as the kids have fun that is what matters. My 6 yr old isn't much interetsed in Disney and would rather do Legoland. He is also a huge Nickelodeon fan, so I was thinking this would be great for him and my 3 yr old. My DD who is 4 is all about Disney. This looked like a nice deal for everyone to enjoy a little something.
The reviews are so mixed although most of them do tend to lean towards positive for kids activities.

The green slime is what it's all about though. Let's just hope they don't get it from the bottom of the pools

They do have AWESOME activities there!
I just know for me, if the hotel is dirty and/or run down I get disturbed and i don't even want to get in the shower. I'm a bit of a germophobe though.

We passed it when we were in FL a few months ago. Its looked a little run down from the outside TBH. But that is all I know about it.
