Re: anyone gone to Legoland in Fl?
we went to Legoland during Feb break.. we did one day at Nick hotel and then one ay at legoland. It is 40 minutes from the Disney area so for anyone going to Disney and have a car it is an option.
Check to see when it is open because it was closed certain days during the week. We went on a Wednesday and it was empty. We got to go on ll rides without waiting more than 5 minutes... My kids loved the cars... It reminded me of safety town. The age is from 3-12. It is sort of like Dutch Wonderland however it is much cleaner, newer and bigger. My son who isn6 could go on every ride. He went on all roller coasters, there are 4. There were a couple of shows we went to also.....
Food there is typical amusement park fare but not a lot of choices....
If your kids are into Lego they will love it....
I would definately recommend it

Re: anyone gone to Legoland in Fl?
That article said the water park would have a separate admission fee. I hope that's not the case, because they're regular admission is already expensive and the water park doesn't look like it has that much.

I saw that too. We're gonna skip the water park if that's the case.

Re: anyone gone to Legoland in Fl?
We went on President's Day.
By all means, go. It's worth it. And, pay the extra 5 or so dollars for "Priority Parking." You'll be thankful at the end of a long day.
Now for my thoughts:
--It has major growing pains. They were supposed to be only open from 9-5 on the day that we were there, and they had to extend the hours until 6 (during the day!) because of the lines.
--Adults operate the rides, not teenagers. I liked that.
--It's not cheap, so take advantage of those Free Admission coupons found in their magazines and on the MiniFigure bags.
--It's a ways from Disney/Universal/International Blvd. Anywhere from 40-55 minutes of a boring drive.
--There are a lot of chain restaurants to the left of the Park, should you want to eat dinner before going home. That is probably the opposite direction of where you are staying, though.
--They're kind of limited by taking over the Cypress Gardens footprint, so they need to think out of the box on that. (like the way Universal linked islands to make Islands of Adventure)
My guess is that the opening of the Water Park will turn the corner for them.
