For all the IUI'ers...
If you have or had a medicated IUI cycle, did you use OPK to find out when you were ovulating? This doesn't make sense to me since when i first went to my RE he told me not to use the OPK's since i was on clomid and it messed up the OPK and they didn't give you an accurate prediction.
Can anyone help? Thanks!

Re: For all the IUI'ers...
for me, OPK's did not work and I needed a trigger shot to ovulate. They would monitor me and once my follicles were mature enough, i'd trigger and do the IUI the next day.. HTH and good luck

Re: For all the IUI'ers...
I went in for monitoring and used ovidrel to trigger ovulation when the RE felt I was ready.

Re: For all the IUI'ers...
i dislike when REs trust the OPK... it's their job to make sure they don't miss your ovulation and best timing for IUI so they should monitor you and if necessary trigger when the time is right. ive heard too many stories of people missing ovulation due to trusting the OPKs.

Re: For all the IUI'ers...
Some REs do this. I'm not a fan. Clomid/femara always made me surge. I always thought that triggering was better at pin pointing ovulation. I tried opks once when I switched REs and it was like a mad rush to test and have to call for an apt so quickly. I'd probably miss it since we needed time to plan with work schedules.

Re: For all the IUI'ers...
I've never used an OPK under the care of an RE. They usually monitor me very closely up until it's time to trigger and then I go back in for the IUI 2 days later. I'm actually triggering tonight for an IUI on Thursday morning!

Re: For all the IUI'ers...
I used the OPK cause I ovulated on my own so there was no need for a trigger. Clomid never messed up my OPK or even changed anything about my cycle.

Re: For all the IUI'ers...
Thanks ladies, my RE never actually told me to use the OPK's, he was the one who told me that clomid would interfere with the OPK's..but I just wanted to find out if anyone had done so and the results.
Thanks for the help!
