18 weeks and not feeling anything?
is it normal to not feel anything yet, not even flutters, at 18 weeks? This is my first. I mentioned to my cousin yesterday that I still haven't felt the baby and she seemed very surprised, so I was just wondering.

Im 21 wks and I havent felt anything yet. Everyone is different, so I wouldn't pay too much attention to what others have felt. I would just mention it to your dr and see what he/she has to say.

You could have an anterior placenta, thats takes longer to feel movement

totally normal. im 22w3d and just starting to feel some more movement, and its really only at night or in the morning if i lay flat in my bed. Sometimes I feel her at work when im sitting in my chair. If you have an anterior placenta this is normal as well.

Its not something you HAVE to know, but next time you get a sono I would ask them. They never told me with #1 I asked them, this time around I had to go to the ER for some bleeding and they actually told me there.

my sono tec told me about the anterior placenta around 12 or 13 weeks. think of it as a big pillow between your uterus and the surface of your skin, therefore you may not feel movements until the baby is bigger.

i thought i felt something around that time....but i have anterior placenta as well and didnt for sure feel something till 22 weeks..they can tell on an ultrasound

I just came back from my doctor and I told him that I feel flutters but not really anything more. He sort of yelled at me stating that what some people feel is different than what other people feel. I may be feeling what I am supposed to be feeling but maybe I am not describing it properly so it seems as though the baby isn't kicking as much as it should. He put me on the sonogram and we saw the baby move. He asked me if I felt it and I didn't but we saw it move. Anyway, the point is that I am feeling something and the baby is healthy so I am sure everything is fine. He told me to lay on my left side after I eat a big meal and count how many times I feel something. I shoudl feel baby move 7-10 times in one hour.

I dont think you have anything to worry about... Not even Anterior Placenta. Its something you can DEF ask your Dr about at your next sono or visit, but 18 weeks is still early to feel movement/flutters...
Movement can be felt at anytime and I know A LOT of women who didnt feel anything until they got into 20-22 weeks...
Every woman is different... Also some women dont even realize that they are feeling flutters...
People mean well, but your going to hear A LOT of opinons so be prepared! Its like wedding planning, you just learn to smile and say thanks Ill keep that in mind...
