need help dressing for an event
its still several months away (june) but I'm already stressing about what I'm going to wear.
Its the heart of the hamptons gala. Lots of people wear red because of the connection with the american heart association. I think I look pretty good in red although I don't wear it much.
I'm 42, 5'8" and I'm wearing a tight size 10 or a loose size 12 right now. I'm working on being a little slimmer by summer.
I would not buy anything online unless I can try it on in a store first. I need ideas on what stores to look in. I've been to Saks and Lord & taylor lately but I didn't see anything I even wanted to try on.
Any suggestions?

I wouldnt rule out shopping online. I bought a dress from Macys.com that I love & it fit like a glove. I had free shipping & I knew I could return it to the store with no problems. Nordstroms does free returns.
