PIO - hitting a blood vessel

Just did my PIO shot....pulled the plunger to make sure there was no blood. Did the injection and when I took it out I was gushing blood The PIO was still absorbed right? I don't have to do the shot again, do I???

i bled all the time from PIO. im sure you're fine.

they told me if it bled after the needle was out it was ok just apply pressure

This has happened to me, one time it was seriously just leaking blood and before I had a chance to grab the paper towel I dripped all over the floor. It was disgusting, but I think okay.

It's almost impossible to hit a blood vessel. As long as when you pulled out on the plunger there was no blood, you're good. I usually bled a little after DH pulled out the syringe.

Just make sure you/he/whoever injects you pulls the needle out straight - at exactly the angle it went in. I bled the most when DH rushed pulling it out and pulled it at a little angle. No big deal, though. That's why you have the sterile gauze. Once he even put a bandaid on my butt!

I always bled, always had bandaids on after the injection. Totally normal
