Photopass price going up 3/21

The photopass CD price is going up on March 21st from $149 to $169. The pre-order price is rumored to be going up to $129 from the now $99. It doesn't expire so if you have a trip planned and are considering it - buy it before the 21st when the price will go up!

BTW pre-order means you order the CD before you take any photopass photos (so your best bet is to buy it at home now before your trip).

Just be careful about how far in advance you pre-purchase. Disney only holds your credit card info for 6 months and afterwards you can't get a refund if decide you want to take advantage of the money-back guarantee.

Great idea to get in on the lower price if you KNOW you're going to get the CD(s) no matter what though.

See for us we always get it no matter what because we get over 300 photos so it is worth it. Most of the people on here I believe are going in less than 180 days (they are spring, summer or August trips). So they should be okay. I don't know anyone IRL who has wanted a refund.

I've never heard of it either, but it's good to know.

The way I see it, if I don't like my photos this trip, I know I'll be back and Disney has assured that the credits will NEVER expire.

We have more than a few LI Families clients who are going to WDW after the 6-month cutoff, including some into 2013, so it's good information to have out there.

Also, I know quite a few people who've requested refunds for their PhotoPass for different reasons - too many missing images, poor image quality, just not worth the money to them, etc.

Some people don't visit WDW more than once in a lifetime (I know, sacrilege!) so never-expiring credits would still be worthless to them.

How do you get that amount of pics on your photo pass? A few shots at each attraction with a photog? I'm thinking about the pass but I'm still not sure.

DH hates when I ask strangers, lol, so it may be worry the $99 just for that, lol.

We stop at all the photo pass photographers - we try to do it when we aren't hurrying or when we are leaving mid day. We do it over and over - these are our family shots (in front of the castle, in front of spaceship earth, in china etc). They take a lot at the character meet and greets - we were averaging 3-5 photos every time we met one character per child. We did it two times and both times had 300+. We also ran into photopass photographers at the Polynesian walking around the pool as well. Since we buy it in advance we make a conscience effort to take as many photos as we can.

To do the math - one photo printed from them is about $14.95. While you don't get a printed photo you will get a CD with a letter giving you the rights to the photos. Then you can take them to walgreens, upload to shutterfly or basically go anywhere you choose and print them. So you have to figure out how many you would be happy getting. If you get over 7-9 days about 300 you have a pretty high average of getting a large number that you really like. BTW you can add borders to your photos - and they do include on the pass the photos that the photographers take with you doing things like holding tinkerbell in your hand etc.

PhotoPass photographers are set up all through the parks! They'll take pictures of your children interacting with the characters at meet 'n greets, not just the hug 'n cheese shot. PhotoPass pics of my daughter Mia interacting with Buzz are below.

I always tell our clients to tell every PhotoPass photographer that they pre-purchased the CD so they'll get even more shots at each encounter since the photographer knows the shots will get used and not thrown away.

Also, if you do Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, those pics are included on your PhotoPass, both the experience and the photo shoot afterwards.
