Help me choose a name
I've been going back and forth like crazy with these two names. I just can't decide and there's only 10 days til my due date
Valentina is so pretty to me. I like that it means strong and healthy and after my MC I kept praying that this baby would just be strong and healthy. It's a cute name and sounds great for a little girl, but when she gets older will she like it? Also, I don't want anyone calling her Val.
Victoria is a strong name to me. I've always liked it growing up, mostly because there was a friend of my mom's with the name who I always looked up to. I always said I would name my daughter Victoria Rose. Sometimes I think the name can come across as snotty though and then people say they don't like Vicky and that people will call her that.
Ugh, any thoughts? My family keeps saying to just pick a name already.

DH's cousin is Victoria. NO ONE calls her Vicky.
I went to college with a Valentina. Everyone called her Val. I didn't even know her name was Valentina and not Valerie until I'd known her like 2 years.

I like Victoria. You don't have to call her Vicky if you don't want to. Tori is another possible nickname option if you want to use one.

I've definitely thought of this but DH is Tony and I can just see him constantly saying "what" when I call her.

My friends DD is named Valentina and they call her "Teenie"
Other friend had a DD named Vistoria but everyone calls her Tori

I dont like val, vicky or tori as a nickname lol thats my prob - i like names but not nicknames. I voted for valentina bc judging JUST on actual names, i think its beautiful and unique.

I agree. I think whatever name I pick I'll have to just stay away from nicknames.

Love the name Valentina but Victoria is pretty good too (I'm a Victoria). And for the record, I was rarely called anything aside from Victoria until I started using Vicky with my last name for professional work. Some friends call me Vick or Vicky but for the most part if I introduce myself by Victoria people will call me that.
Can't lose with either name :)
