Clomid
please give me the good, the bad, the ugly. My large fibroid was able to be removed with the d&c so next month I will start clomid and have my first iui. nervous, excited and 9 million other emotions.

I was on 50mg of clomid and conceived 2x... with ds it took one cycle and with dd it took 3 cycles. The only side effect I had was extremely vivid dreams. I thought I was hallucinating. Good luck!

the bad was that it did absolutely nothing for me and i had to pay OOP for it (not that it was crazy expensive but still)
there was no good and i moved on to other meds the very next cycle.
good luck! hopefully you have some goods to add!!!

I honestly had no side effect from it (other then getting pregnant!  ) I did two cycles of it, the second time we did IUI and I got pregnant with my twins.

For me I developed large cysts and had a cycle canceled because of the cyst...It also thinned out my lining where I needed to take estrogen both orally and that didnt work then vaginally...Clomid worked and I developed several follicles but I wouldnt take it again...I am on femara now and its more expensive but I have not had a cyst or thinning of my lining...Last cycle I only developed one follicle...clomid affects everyone differently..I was on 100mg dose.

I would assume that everyone reacts differently to it. For me, it didn't produce follicles, so it was useless. But I had such bad mood swings while on it.

Only side effect I had was hot flashes. I did have to take large doses for it to work. I started on 50 mg and went to 250 mg. I had my dd in 2010 after 3 iui/clomid cycles and I'm 28 weeks pg now after one clomid/iui cycle.

Had no side effects at all. Just had my 2nd IUI done. I actually asked the doctor if it was working because I expected to have side effects. good luck

I was on 100mg. Had a headache the first ngiht but I think it was all in my head since one of the sideffects was headaches and I was worried about it.
The bad - While I did produce more follies I did nto get pregnant

I already Oed on my own but Clomid helped me produce more follies and perhaps better quality eggs. I had some hot flashes and was moody but that part may have just been stress.
My twin boys are a result of our 1 and only Clomid IUI. I took 50 mg.
We got very lucky that was all the help we needed with a diagnosis of unexplained IF.

I didn't have any side effects except that it did start to thin my lining. I made 3-4 mature follies each time.

Repeated cycles on clomid could thin your lining. As someone with very serious lining issues, this is something to definitely watch out for.
