Re: Laproscopy to check for endo..
Its like a surgery in the hospital. (same day) Dr. B doesnt do them. He will probably send you to Dr. Pilliteri who is kinda "eh" personality wise if you ask some people, but hes a great surgeon. He did mine but he's also my regular gyn.
Its like a few days recovery. They make tiny inscinsions and go in with a camera and can remove endo if there is any. I had it done before I went to Dr B b/c my HSG showed a blocked tube.

Re: Laproscopy to check for endo..
I had a Lap done a few years ago with my OB after he saw a huge endometrioma on my left ovary. Like PP said, they do the surgery thru 3 or 4 tiny holes. (my scars are so small i dont even notice them) You will be amazed at what they can take out from just a tiny incision! Its done outpatient...so you're home the same day. I needed about 1-2 weeks to recover before i went back to work.

Re: Laproscopy to check for endo..
I have had 2 done, both for the removal of a cyst. The first one they did find endo, which was moderate, so it caused a little more pain. But I was on my feet after a couple of days. The worst thing, was the gas. Elevate your feet as much as possible, it helps aleviate some of the pressure.

Re: Laproscopy to check for endo..
I just had it done at the end of Dec. with dr. pillitteri. As pp said, it was an in and out procedure and the gas pain was worse than the incisions. I had it done late Wednesday, was out and about by Friday. Very tired for a few days, but took a few naps here and there. Bloated for some time, but overall it was much easier than I anticipated. Hope this helps.
ETA - I was filled with endo and had no symptoms.

Re: Laproscopy to check for endo..
I had one to, this past July. 3 small incisions 1 in belly button, 2 closer to hip bone. The length of the procedure usually depends upon whether they wind up finding anything or not. I had some abdominal scarring from a procedure when I was an infant but no endo really, took longer than expected. I healed just fine. I made sure to walk the gas off because so I wouldn't have any pains. Dr. Pillitteri did mine as well.

Re: Laproscopy to check for endo..
I just had one done this afternoon, currently in bed recovering.
The dr and I weren't sure if I had endo or not, and sure enough I did! So glad I decided to have the surgery bc he was able to remove it. He also removed a couple of ovarian cysts while I was in there, and some scar tissue from previous abdominal surgery.
I was having a lot of abnormal, heavy bleeding. It was very clotty and stringy. We weren't sure why. We both suspected endo but now we know for sure.
My regular OBGYN did the surgery for me, I trust and like him a lot. I would prob go with your regular dr if he has had a lot of practice already. Good luck!

Re: Laproscopy to check for endo..
I had it done couple of years ago. Dr made two tiny incisions under belly button. Other than minor shoulder pain for couple of days, no other problems. GL!
