What would happen if my E2 is too high?
Girls I've never been so afraid in my life. My ER was supposed to be Tuesday 3/13. This morning, they said that E2 was too high yesterday and that my embies look good for a Wednesday ER. I just spoke to the nurse. She said it's still high and ER will be Thursday if the E2 still isn't high. If not, then she said I'd take the HCG and then'd still do an ER but then we'd have a next cycle Frozen????????????? WHAT? I am so confused and I can't call her back right now. What does this mean? has this happened to any of you?

Re: What would happen if my E2 is too high?
if e2 is over 5000 it can make implantation rates a little lower. mine was over 6000 and we did a fresh ET and both of my embies implanted. but the higher the e2 the more chance of OHSS, esp if you trigger with HCG. many doctors will trigger with lupron if e2 is high since it can help prevent OHSS. if its very high and OHSS develops many doctors recommend FET instead of a fresh transfer, since implantation rates are lower when e2 is high. plus if you develop OHSS, then transfer, and get a BFP, you can redevelop OHSS even worse since rising HCG makes it worse. it is pretty standard to delay ET if e2 is above certain levels although for me they did not delay the transfer (but i did get mild OHSS which flared up after BFP). the good news is, high e2 is usually indicative of lots of mature eggs!!

Re: What would happen if my E2 is too high?
Flowerwife thank you SoO much! I jus found out that my E2 is 6276. It is over 6K but the nurse seems to think that it will go down even more, enough to complete the fresh cycle. I am freaking out at the thought of having to freeze them and wait again for the next cycle to do FET I asked her why it's still so high- I've been coasting for 3 effing days and it hasn't gone down to where they want it. She said it was over 9K when they took me off meds! Now I get it. It's just how my body is responding. FML

I had to do that my 2nd IVF cycle because my lining was really crappy and Dr.B said it wouldn't make sense to do a transfer.
It really stinks having to delay it all by another month or so .. but in the end, if it's gonna work it's gonna work.. and in the long run, another 4wks won't make a difference. I know how it is though... right now 4wks feels like years...................
Trust me, I'm waiting now too
