Removing glass sliding doors from a tub?
Our main upstairs bath has a tub/shower with sliding glass doors on it and I'm thinking about removing them. Has anyone done this without replacing the entire tub? We will be remodeling this bathroom but not for a few years (it's in decent shape now and not all that old). It's just SO annoying to bath DD in there and I also feel that the glass doors are a bit of a safety issue for children. This will be the bathroom that DD and any future children will be sharing and I think we're much better off with a curtain in there. Does anyone have any experience or comments on this? Any tips for bathing babies in a tub with glass sliders?

I removed my own when I was home on maternity leave. It was SUPER easy. Just unscrew and it came right off. Then I took a straight edge blade and scraped off the caulking. Took no time at all!

Thanks for the response! How did the tub look afterwards? Did it have marks where the doors were? What did you do with the screw holes? I'm mostly afraid of what it will look like after the doors come off.

Yup. Same here. It was easy.
ETA: It did no damage to the tub or wall except for it left screw holes.

Same here. There was a little caulk that I wasn't able to get off the tub, but like you we were planning to replace it eventually anyway.

we did the same - just left some screw holes. I can't imagine bathing kids with the siding doors

Re: Removing glass sliding doors from a tub?
We did the same as well. The glass doors just pop right out and the frame just needs to be unscrewed from the wall and it comes out. It took a while to scrape away the caulk from the tub, but when we were all done it looked fine. You will just be left with some holes in the wall where the screws were but you can fill them with caulk.
