European Trip Ideas

Hi, Everyone!

My DH and I are looking to take a trip to Europe this summer. We have a good two weeks to travel. We're considering Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, London, or Ireland. Obviously, we can't see ALL of these places in that time frame. But, we would like to see a few.

Anyone have suggestions as to how we can group these cities together?

Can we see the southern part of Ireland and tag on London?

We travel at a pretty fast pace but don't want to be totally exhausted when we return!

Any thoughts/cities you highly recommend, etc. would be awesome!

Thanks!

We are doing Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam in May! We're flying into Paris for four days, then taking the train to Brussels for just one day & night, then the train to Amsterdam for four days and then flying home from there. You could start in London and then take the train to Paris and go from there. I like taking the hop on hop off bus tours. They're a great way to see all of the big sites and they have them in London, Paris and Brussels. I booked our flight on Orbitz. FM if you want to know where we're staying in each city Chat Icon

Oooh, sounds wonderful! That's one itinerary we are considering. I may be asking you for a few more specifics about your trip soon!

From your planning, what do you think the least amount of time we could spend in Amsterdam is? Do you think we could do two nights?

It depends on what you want to do. You could definitely see a lot in 2 days. This time we're going to the Anne Frank House, Rembrandt's House and The Heineken brewerey. Last time we were there we did the Van Gogh museum, a Red Light District tour (which was great!) and a wine and cheese canal cruise. This time we're also doing a canal boat dinner cruise. Those are a lot of fun too!

Re: European Trip Ideas

I guess Amsterdam is really wonderful if you're going there a second time! It's def a place we want to see eventually.

My DH is really into the history of Britain/Ireland, though. So, I guess we just need to determine where we want to go right now. When we go to Europe, we like to cover as much as we can, esp with the cost of airfare just to get there!

Have you been to Ireland or Britain before?

Thanks for your responses! Like I said, I may be looking for more info soon!

We did London and Amsterdam last time, so if you have any questions on London let me know. I highly recommend a sunrise tour to Stonehenge! They only let you near the rocks at sunrise or sunset, otherwise you have to stand outside the rope during the day.
