Anyone have their teeth bonded or know anything about dental procedures
I am having a problem with my bonding on my front tooth, it keeps getting discolored after like a year and its really annoying. My dentist says thats just what happens and it has to be re done..but I have had this bonding for as long as I can remember and I don't remember this being such an issue. Could it be something hes using? Does this happen to anyone else?

Ask about having a partial veneer or veneer done. I used to have a bond on my front tooth since I was 7 that discolored and turned yellow very quickly (long story short- cracked my adult tooth in half at that age in an accident and the dentist bonded my tooth.) In college, I saw a new dentist that gave me the option of having a partial veneer done. She told me not to bother re-bonding the tooth because it's a cheap fix and would get discolored again. My partial veneer has never given me a problem and has never discolored. Nobody can tell that I have a veneer since she color matched it quite well.

Re: Anyone have their teeth bonded or know anything about dental procedures
I have had 2 bondings for about 3 years now and no discoloring yet. My dentist did tell me they would discolor and is surprised they still look good after 3 yrs. I am not a smoker and dont drink dark colored things like coffee or cola so I think that helps. I also use whitening trays every now and then. When they finally do start to discolor I will probably opt for veneers.

He has def mentioned veeners Im just not ready to spend that kind of money. Unfortuantely the whitening products do not work on bondings!

Re: Anyone have their teeth bonded or know anything about dental procedures
I had an accident in December and I broke 4 teeth. I had the choice of bonding or veneers and chose veneers. My dentist did recommend that i whiten the rest of my teeth before i get anything permanent put in. They were temporarily bonded while I was waiting for the veneers to be made. I know it's expensive but I think it's worth it. If you only need one it will be around $900. I am soooooo happy with mine.

Re: Anyone have their teeth bonded or know anything about dental procedures
I had bonding on three of my front teeth since I was a kid - I cracked all of them in bicycle accidents. One had a root canal and was really discolored. I was always getting the bonding redone as well and felt insecure about them.
Right before we got married, I finally decided to get something done about it. I went to Dr. Glassberg in Massapequa Park. He took the bonding off, ground them down, and fixed crowns on all of them. I didn't have to pay for the one without the root since it's not cosmetic when the tooth is dead. It cost about $1500.
This is my smile now http://i.imgur.com/pvpvx.jpg. Most people cant tell that they're crowns. It's my two front teeth and the one to the left of them.
Best thing I ever did, and I don't worry about it anymore. It was definitely worth it.
