Ouch!
Oh boy, had my first internal today which was less than pleasant And now I am so crampy and feel sore in there if that makes sense. Yikes, I think the dr. may have stirred things up!

Basically he tries to put his fist in your mouth through your who-ha At least that's what it felt like.  Seriously though, they check the cervix manually to see if there is any dilation or effacement. It's rather uncomfortable but only lasts seconds, I think he was in there for maybe 15-20 seconds.

I have always been a bit sore after an internal...they do press around on your cervix to see if you are dialated or if you cervix is getting thinned out. So it makes sense that you would be sore afterwards. And it royally sucks! I had one yesterday and have been very uncomfortable today!

He doesn't do them at all? I didn't get one until now 37 weeks. I think most doctors don't start until around then.
