WWYD- Laser Hair Removal
So here is the situation. I bought a Groupon for underarm laser last spring, it was $150 for six sessions. After the 6 sessions I had less growth/slower growth but still no where near hair free.
They offered additional package of 3 treatments for $150. Apparently only a handful of people out of over 500 needed this after the 6 sessions.
Now I've done 9 sessions and I still have growth. The reason I did laser to begin with is because I have super, super sensitive skin. My underarms are always irritated and break out and it makes me very self-conscious in the sleeveless tops. (BTW, all my sessions were 4-6 weeks apart they way they are supposed to be)
I talked to them today, they say I am the only one out of 500 something that hasn't had results after the 9 sessions (talk about discouraging!!) and offered me the same deal for 3 sessions at $150. I tried to bargain them down since I have already payed that twice but without the Groupon it is sooo much more so they wouldn't budge on the price.
I have seen results, I have much less hair and it grows so much slower. Would you pay more to continue the sessions? Has this happened to anyone else? If I stop now I feel like i just wasted the first $300, but now something that I thought would be $150 total is going to be $450.

Re: WWYD- Laser Hair Removal
I would def wait for another groupon to come out...I bought a groupon for laser on my face and I have had the problem where I have done probably 20 treatments on my face and I still have the issue since its more hormonal...granted its not what it used to be I am not hairless...I recently saw a groupon for 6 treatments for $99. You may also never get to the point where you are completely bare...I also did laser on my legs and I still have some regrowth but its better.

Re: WWYD- Laser Hair Removal
Everyone is diff. I dont respond like many should after 6 sessions....so I pay a discounted pricefor each additional session.
Many actually don'twhy packages are sold because most know you will be back.
Hang tight for another group on but if not......keep going until you are happy.

I've only done one session so far but my sessions are scheduled to be 9 weeks apart, not 4-6.
Where are you going for it? Hope it works out and you get the results you want

It did not work for me. The hair grew in thicker and darker after I stopped going for treatments....

Re: WWYD- Laser Hair Removal
Do you know what type of laser they're using???
I have olive skin w/black hair, and so far I've done 6 session for my underarm and I'm 98% hair free. I go EXACTLY every 4 weeks (as you should) and I'll probably have 1-2 more sessions.
I would give it one more shot (3 more sessions) and see where it goes. I wouldn't wait until another groupon is out b/c you don't know when that will be, and it's really important to go on a rotation 4-6 weeks.

Re: WWYD- Laser Hair Removal
I had it done about 5 years ago, and I don't remember how many treatments I ended up having, but it was at least 9 if not more. At the time, I had a package that offered unlimited treatments for a certain amount of time, I believe it was a year, but it might have been longer. I'm sorry, I don't remember. I don't even know if packages like that are available any more. Anyway, even after all the treatments, I still have some hair, although not nearly as much as I started with. I don't really mind. It's still way easier to shave and doesn't leave visible stubble, which is all I really cared about.

Re: WWYD- Laser Hair Removal
I had my legs done in 2002 (around that time) and it worked great.
They used this laser but I don't think it had a cooling device when I had it done.

Re: WWYD- Laser Hair Removal
I would say purchase another treatment. I recently started my LHR and on my first treatment I saw a HECK of a difference. I am still in shock how much it has worked. I bought a groupon for $89 (6 sessions) and the lady said with 8 sessions she recommends I will be hair free. Lets hope and see. :)

Re: WWYD- Laser Hair Removal
I'm sure you know laser hair removal is not hair free. I would make sure they are using a really high laser on you. I just went for my third session (which they do every 5 weeks) and they used the highest laser on me. I have definitely seen a huge difference since the first session.

Re: WWYD- Laser Hair Removal
Thanks everyone! I think I'm going to stop for now and wait until I can get another Groupon for a different place. I feel like at this point they are just trying to get my money and I'd rather go somewhere else. Plus I could get a Groupon for double the treatments for the same price they want to charge me.
I'm just very disappointed that I'm not getting the same results that I've heard from other people. I was so excited when I decided to do this and it is such a let down to have it not work out.

Can you tell me what kind of laser you used? I am in the process of looking into this and it is so confusing with different places using different types of lasers.
