Scheduled C-Section
Still haven't decided if I am going VBAC or scheduled c-section. I am 37 weeks tomorrow and need to decide fast. We have a growth sono on Friday so hopefully that will help us make our decision.
Anyway, I am sad just thinking about leaving my little man at home while I am at the hospital. What is the shortest amount of time that they make you stay for the c-section? I know insurance covers up to 4 days and if you're well enough you can leave 3 days after but I recovered super fast last time. Could I possibly leave 2 days after?

Re: Scheduled C-Section
I have a c-section scheduled but my doctor has given me the go-ahead to have a vbac if I go into labor before then. He would be fine with me even holding out until after my c-section date but I am a babysitter and only have 2 weeks off so I need to know the latest date possible that this baby can come so that the Mom can make other arrangements for that time.
Anyway...doc said if I go into labor and am progressing fine we'd do a vbac, otherwise stick wth the c-section date. I am happy with that decision.
As far as hospital stay, I know a lot of hospitals will let you leave after 3 days or so, but you may find that you want the rest. I know you are concerned about your DC but remember that once you go home life will be crazy and you won't have much time to rest. I personally am staying the entire 4 days. My DH has the whole week off of work and I trust that he'll be able to do the right things with my DD while I am in the hospital. I don't want to try and overdo it too fast and end up with an infection or something!

Re: Scheduled C-Section
I just had a c/s, and I was technically cleared by my OB to leave after 3 nights (had baby Friday evening and could go home Monday if I wanted to). I chose to stay that 4th night, even though I have 2 kids at home. I needed it, a c/s is no joke, it's major surgery and I wanted to rest and the help with the baby.
