So the IVF journey begins
I got my calendar yesterday and started my BCP yesterday. I will stay on them for the next 15 ,two days off, and then I start the injections. That's the part that worries me. I know plenty of people that have done this process sucessfully, but I suddenly feel like a bumbling idiot and I think it is my nerves. I feel like somehow I am going to screw this up and take too much meds or the wrong ones or not mix things correctly. I have some questions for you girls #1 I can't remember if they said the injections are once or twice a day and #2 Did you have to sign the consent forms with DH in front of the nurse or did you fill them out prior and then have her witness them. My nurse put that my consent forms are due on 3/20 the day after I start injections and I was wondering if DH would need to come to the office in the a.m. with me. #3 how often do you go in for blood and sono while on the meds?

Re: So the IVF journey begins
I remember being the exact way! I am going through my third cycle now and sometimes I laugh at the way I was a ball of nerve the first time.
#1: I did my injections at night, within 3 hours of the night before. I only started the morning when they added Ganirelex to the mix which was about a week into stims.
#2: I always signed the papers in front of the nurse. I would say it is your best bet because this is your first time and sometimes the initialing and signing is confusing.
#3: I started on a Thursday. I went in the following Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and then every day. It all depends on how you are responding. They have to watch your hormone levels and if there is a jump, like mine, then I needed to start going everyday. They also measure the size of your follicles.
You will be ok. I promise. Take sometime now to get used to everything and organized. It helps in the long run.

Re: So the IVF journey begins
#1: depends what you are on. for me lovenox and ganirelix were morning injections and follistim and luveris were evening.
#2: we were given and signed the paperwork together at the office but im not sure if that was just because we didn't get it until right before the ER.
#3: it really depends. for me i started stims 9/25. first monitoring was 9/28 but nothing was going on yet. went back 10/2, 10/4, 10/5, 10/6, and my ER was 10/8.
they will give you a calendar to keep everything organized. mixing the meds is nothing. you'll be fine!!

I put a check mark on the calendar next to each med after I took it. I also emailed the nurses with any questions I had. Lots of luck!!
