Vegetable Garden
Anyone have a vegetable garden? FIL had one for years before he passed and DH would like to start it up again. He wants to grow the plants from seed but I'm thinking we should buy garden ready plants.
Ideas? advice?
Thanks, Lisa

Re: Vegetable Garden
I start from seeds...love it! Just have to plan in advance so they're ready for the ground, but I love it! (This is the 1st year I'm doing a whole one myself...did pots in my old apt & seeds for family, but this year, it's for me...really psyched).

Re: Vegetable Garden
Yes we have a vegetable garden just started last year. We tried seeds last year but it was very tough. This year we are having better luck. You really need to have lights or a cold frame outside.
This year we are having better luck with our seeds our broccoli is starting to sprout.
Last year we had luck with strawberries, zucchini, cucumbers, string beans and peppers.
Tomatoes did not do well last year

Re: Vegetable Garden
My Dad has a huge garden and this year I'm going to start my own. He always starts with seeds, so I'm going to do the same. I can't wait!

Re: Vegetable Garden
My husband is all geared up for the planting season!
He starts from seeds. It's definitely a process but he really enjoys it and I LOVE the fresh produce
