Excellence Club

is it worth it? we have been to excellence punta cana and we are looking to go to excellence playa mujeres. we want to upgrade to the two story roof top room. is it worth it to get the excellence club too??

I'm eager to hear the answer to this, too. We're going to Punta cana in May. From all the reviews I see though, most say it's NOT worth it.

We have been there, and did not choose the Excellence club, and we didn't regret it. The resort is amazing and the standard rooms are so nice, they are anything but "standard". I believe the club members get access to a private pool, but there are so many pools and they never feel crowded that a private pool is really not a big deal at all. They also get liquor in their rooms, but the resort is all-inclusive and there are tons of bars throughout the resort, so we didn't feel that was such a great perk either. We personally wouldn't have spent much time on a roof top terrace, as we prefered to be down by one of the pools or on the beach. Plus, I've heard that the terraces aren't completely private because other terraces can look over depending on where they're situated. Hope that helps!

We have never done Excellence Club either - we have been to Punta Cana.

It was expensive - a few hundred dollars if I remember correctly for our entire stay. I just don't think the extras are worth all of that.

You get upgraded toiletries (I pack my own)
Private beach - right next to regular beach and we never had a problem getting chairs
Excellence Club Lounge - we had no use for this - plenty of food/drink elsewhere and if we needed a rest, we went to our own room
Alcohol in room - didn't need this as there were waters, beer, soft drinks and we just got a drink 'to go' and walked back to our room with it. We drank plenty, didn't miss not having it in our room.

I think you need to determine if you would appreciate the extras to determine if it makes sense for you or not.
