Those who have been pregnant...
I asked this question on the pregnancy boards but I'm going to ask here as well. If you were pregnant and high risk, how many weeks did your doctor do the first sono? Also, did anyone NOT have bloodwork to confirm the HPT?
I am really beginning to and doubt my doctor but I don't know another in this area and I feel like they got me this far, I should stick with them but my gut is saying that they are too lax!

Re: Those who have been pregnant...
Every RE will see you at 5/6wks. In all my time on this board, I have never heard of someone not being seen in that time frame for a first sono. Also, every REs does a beta .. like.. that's beyond super duper standard...
I don't know your story, are you with someone who isn't doing these things? If yes, that's a bright red flag with smoke signals!!

Currently I am seeing a ob/gyn who specializes in infertility...I had made an appointment for a RE but not until May and she got me pregnant in the meantime. I am going to message you!

If you have had infertility treatments you should have a sono and beta earlier. If you didn't have infertility treatments then it depends on why you are hi risk

ITA. when you see an RE you always get bloodwork right away and a sono around 6w. even if your OB dabbles in fertility treatments, that doesn't mean their practice treats "infertility" patients any differently than regular pregnant women.

Re: Those who have been pregnant...
My normal obgyn saw me 3 days after I got my positive -- so at 14dpo and did blood work and did a sono --even though she said they wouldn't see anything.
They had me come in EVERY week for a sono since I had a prior loss (I still ended up loosing this one) but they were SO nice.
Again this wasn't even an RE..... just knew i was nervous and accomidated me.

Re: Those who have been pregnant...
My history, in short, is 7 losses (8 babies) and I moved and lost my RE because of it. Every test under the sun showed that I am totally normal, minus pcos (but I still ovulate), insulin resistance (metformin to help) and something that I can't absorb b vitamins correctly (rx vitamin for that).
UPDATE-I emailed my dr's office late last night and the nurse called me this morning. She basically said that she was feeling me out when we last spoke. Some women want to know everything and some just don't want to know early on because they want to enjoy it. She said that they want to support me and whatever I feel most comfortable with is fine. My dr actually does want a sono at 7 weeks, she said not to listen to the scheduler because they don't know and that's why she told me to make an appt between week 7-8. They do look for a heartbeat, the scheduler was probably thinking about the doppler that they do at 12 weeks. With that, they called in bloodwork to a local hospital stat and I should have the results within 3 hours before end of day. They also faxed me a prescription for repeat bloodwork on Monday morning.
I also called another practice in the area who has a separate high risk office and want all of my records before discussing how they'd handle it. Unfortunately the RE offices here won't start seeing you once you are pregnant unless you were their patient prior so I feel between a rock and a hard place. I'm not as upset about my practice now that they seem much more proactive and sensitive to me.
Thank you ladies for everything!
So now I wait for the initial results to come back It's going to be a long few hours
