Walt Whitman Mall is getting a HUGE makeover!
I apologize in advance if this is old news 
I don't go there often, but I know some do. They are expanding the mall and adding a bunch of new stores (and renovating some existing ones)
Planned so far:
Free People
Anthropologie
Swarovski
Cache
Microsoft
Revamp of the Apple Store
Henri Bendel
I will update as I hear what else is going in there!

I read that they are going to transform the parking lot as well? The new renovation will include 12 new stores as well as more room for already existing stores.
I was there maybe a month ago and Vera Bradley will be opening in the spring 
I believe I found this information (except for Vera, I saw that with my eyes) in Newsday not too long ago.

They are making it more upscale...
Here are other stores coming: Tiffany, Burberry, LuLulemon, Northface...
I am hearing rumors that Nordstrom Rack will be coming in where Toys r Us was...

I'm glad to hear this. For some reason, I find this mall boring (although i love saks and bloomies). It could use a little makeover!

Yes - i was talking to a salesperson at Gymboree a couple weeks ago and she said the expansion will lead out to the front of the mall taking up part of the parking lot.
I've heard so many different stories - i wonder what really is going to happen.
