pump. I recommend Medala Pump n Style.

Lanisoh Gel Soothies.

Earth Mama Angel Baby nipple butter.

nursing pads because you will leak at first

nursing bras (Target has good ones)

Medela Sterilzer bags to sterilize pump parts

medela bags that attach to the pump so you can freeze milk

This...

Though, I had an Ameda Double Pump and it was great... and not nearly as expensive as the Medela

A breastpump, BUT please first call Edge Park and see if your insurance will cover it for you (either entirely or partially!). Lots of women have gotten their pumps for free or reduced this way!

I highly recommend the Medela Freestyle pump. LOTS of cool stuff about it.

Also get the Lansinoh breast milk storage bags - they are the best ones.

Lansinoh breast cream (I forgot the exact name, but it's to put on your nipples and it helps a ton).

Medela Sterilization Bags - LOVED this to quickly and easily sterilize all the parts.

Also I highly recommend you register for a few bottles so someone can help you feed the baby or if you need to go out for a few hours.

We used the Playtex Drop in bottles (which made cleanup a breeze!!!) but also they didn't cause any nipple confusion with DS - he was able to bottle feed or breastfeed without issue.

Good luck!

Re: What to register for if BF

LOL.. ahhh memories. I can remember when pregnant with ds standing in front of that aisle scratching my head for 30 minutes. I would make a list of items that you think you'll need (so you can send dh to the store to pick up for you if you do end up needing) I personally didn't need anything except lots and lots of Lanolin (which you can also stock up on from the hospital) .. If you do get a pump make sure you don't open it until you know for sure that you will be using it because once opened it cannot be returned and they are expensive. I'd rent one for a few days first to see how well it goes before purchasing one. I got one with ds and started using it but honestly realized that it was alot easier and covienient just to always nurse, but that is just MY scenario. I never needed pads either but I would get them anyway becuause you never know. Lots of women leak all the time. And the rest really depends on you and if you have any issues.. I'd just ask for gift cards to use later on as needed. You never know how it will go and what you will need. A boppy pillow was helpful too. Like I said i'd concentrate on registring for everything else you'll need and gift cards to use later on BF items.
