Resale- Bathrooms
I have two full bathrooms as of now. Both have tubs.
If I were to take one tub out and make it a walk in shower.
Does that make the house one full bathroom?

Re: Resale- Bathrooms
Yes, I believe so.
I went to a house that listed having 1.5 baths....there was a toilet in a closet in the basement!

Re: Resale- Bathrooms
You would still have 2 full bathrooms. A half bath i believe is only when you have a toilet and a sink.

Re: Resale- Bathrooms
Personally, I would consider a bathroom with just a shower, and not a tub as a "3/4 bath"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bathroom
Terminology in the United States
In the United States, bathrooms are generally categorized as master bathroom, containing a shower and a tub that is adjoining to a master bedroom, a "full bathroom" (or "full bath"), containing four plumbing fixtures: bathtub, shower, toilet, and sink; "half (1/2) bath" (or "powder room") containing just a toilet and sink; and "3/4 bath" containing toilet, sink, and shower, although the terms vary from market to market. In some U.S. markets, a toilet, sink, and shower are considered a "full bath". This lack of a single, universal definition commonly results in discrepancies between advertised and actual number of baths in real estate listings. An additional complication is that there are currently two ways of notating the number of bathrooms in a dwelling. One method is to count a half bathroom as ".5" and then add this to the number of full bathrooms (e.g., "2.5" baths would mean 2 full baths and 1 half bath). The other, newer method is to put the number of full bathrooms to the left side of the decimal point and to put the number of half bathrooms to the right of the decimal point (e.g., "2.1" would mean 2 full baths and 1 half bath; "3.2" would mean 3 full baths and 2 half baths).

If that's true than I bought a house without a bathroom

Other areas of the country use the term 3/4 bath, but here it seems you either have a half or a full.
well except at my friend's house, he as a 1/4 bath - toilet but no sink......
From a resale perspective I would think it would be fine to take out one of the tubs but not the other.

Re: Resale- Bathrooms
Yes, you'd be fine -- most people want one bath to have a full tub, so as long as you have at least one tub in the house, you'd be good. As others have said, your home would still be listed as 2 full baths. Some people prefer a walk in shower (older people, people with physical issues), so your house actually might have broader appeal with bathroom with a tub and one bathroom with a walk in shower.

Re: Resale- Bathrooms
Still concidered 2 full baths.
Regarding what to keep, it depends on the situation. Bath near kid bathrooms, bathtub. Other bathroom if used for guesst, shower. But I would keep the tub if it was in a master bath.
