Re: vegas nightlife....
Margaritaville always has music on and sometimes a band. Depending on what nights some of the casino floor bars can be fun with music too. Outside of Ghiradelli they set up music under a tent and random other places on the strip. Just taking a walk you can stumble upon so much.

Re: vegas nightlife....
I went to Vegas with my sister and a girlfriend a few years ago..we had an absolute blast one night at Harrahs Carnival Courtyard. It's an outside bar but there's also a big section of tables in front of a stage with a dancing area. They had bands playing all afternoon/evening...we drank and danced for hours.

At New York, New York there's a fun bar called "Nine Fine Irishmen"...lots of fun and usually a great Irish band. Also in that hotel they have a dueling pianos bar, very fun

Re: vegas nightlife....
if you dont mind venturing out past the strip, there is a restaurant/brewery behind ballys called ellis island.
the food is mediocre but edible, but CHEAP!!
and the beer...the beer is GOOD. its a brewery, so lots of variety. they also have gaming.
since its off the strip, its crazy cheap
we went b/c someone recommended it. its not upscale AT ALL...but just to check it out, its pretty fun
i think for a pasta dinner and 4 beers it was under $20 with tip. yeah, crazy. pasta was whatever. but the beer was yummm. i would actually go back again. haha

Re: vegas nightlife....
I haven't been there in a few years but this is my recollection...
Anything at the Bellagio, Wynn, Venitian, and Mirage should be ok.
Also, hit up your concierge in the hotel you're staying at as they are a GREAT resource for getting you into places and will be able to guide you to what restaurants and bars will suit your needs. I've never met a concierge in Vegas that sucked. They won't steer you wrong.
Good luck and have fun!
