Yes i've been to Capetown twice! I have friends there so no hotel. Air from jfk 5years ago was $1500 r/t.

Capetown is so amazing. We also went to Stellenbosch and the wineries.

Yes I've been twice.

First time was over ten years ago (my ex was from SA). I stayed with him in Pretoria (by Jo'burg) and then we drove to Cape Town 12 hours away.

Second time I went with a friend for a special deal we got with combined airfare and hotel. It was only for a week.

My first airfare price was $1200. I flew through London and had a layover there and stayed with a friend. That was over 10 years ago though. I don't remember the cost of the other trip.

I love Cape Town. I love the wineries there. Both times I did a private wine tour (things were much cheaper than they are now). Some nice wineries to check out: Simonsig (pinotage yum!), Muratie and Delheim. Have lunch at one of them if you can.

Unfortunately, I didn't make it to Kruger. The place we were supposed to stay at didn't work out ( it was one of my ex's friends). I wouldn't miss that if I were you. However, it's by Jo'burg which is kind of far from Cape Town.

There is a lot to do in Cape Town. Table mountain, Cape of good hope, Robben island.

Good luck. I'd say it's about $ 1500-1800 RT nowadays depending on the time of year you go.

I went many years ago so my pricing probably wouldn't be anywhere near relevant but we stayed in Pretoria and then went to Kruger National. We stayed at Sabi Sands and it was unbelieveable! We stayed in a tree top resort too which was so cool. After SA, we flew to Zimbabwe and stayed near Victoria Falls then went to Hwange National Park for more safari. (I wouldn't go to Zimbabwe these days though!) Really amazing all around.To this day I still think it was my best trip ever! Have fun!
