Re: Anyone have back pain?

I had a lot of back pain with my first pregnancy. Ice usually helps calm the muscles. 15 min on and off. Is a massage a possibility?

Re: Anyone have back pain?

YES!! I had my Level II sono this morning so it took awhile, which I loved because we were able to see the baby do so much, but my back was killing me. It's always my lower back that is the worst.

I had terrible back pain since 2nd tri. I used a heating pad on occasion. Back rubs. Tylenol did basically nothing do I stopped taking it. I really just grinned and beared it. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Anyone have back pain?

If it's just lower back pain (and not sciatica), I found that ice like a pp mentioned helps, as does sleeping with a pillow between my knees (I have the Snoogle). I also just found out that crossing my ankles/legs when I slept was aggravating my back pain & causing bad hip pain to boot! I wasn't even crossing my legs at the ankles - I usually kept the bottom leg straight & pulled the other way up. When I started keeping them 1 on top of the other a few days ago I immediately saw a BIG difference! Hope that helps & that you feel better soon Chat Icon

I have been having back pain since second tri started. It is in my upper back though. I am constantly stretching and twisiting because it makes it feel better for the moment. But, yeah it is annoying.

I have it as well. I found warm showers to help and rest. My parents came this weekend to help with DS which made a world of difference. Not having to lift him all day was fantastic.

You don't have to be so uncomfty. Here's a link to a website where you can find a chiro who specializes in prenatal care. icpa4kids.org/Find-a-Chiropractor/

Feel free to fm me too. I'm only practicing part time but work with 2 other drs.

Re: Anyone have back pain?

yup. Chiropractic and rest.
I found that my back pains resolved themselves after laying down for a bit.

...on a side note: I suspect that my easy delivery was due to monthly adjustments as well.
