Is it ok to register when pregnant with #2?

We won't really need too much with this one since I saved everything, but we will need few things, I was thinking of registering but I don't want people to think we are being tacky and strange.

Should I or should I not? Also if we do register at how many weeks?

Re: Is it ok to register when pregnant with #2?

I know SO many people who registered with their 2nd child.

It isn't always for the purposes of having people buy you gifts or throwing you a shower.

You could be sure not to tell anyone about your registry or even register under a fake name if it put you at ease.

But it is very helpful in organizing what you need for the baby and also for the completion coupon at the end.

I am having #2 and we absolutely registered ---we did it at around 20 weeks ... and I'm now at 33 weeks and so far no signs of any kind of sprinkle or shower or anything but I am glad that I have a registry ... within the next few weeks we'll be buying the essentials that we need off of it and we'll use the completion coupon for some of the bigger stuff.

I started an online registry at Target for ME. I like that it organizes everything neatly. I'm definitely not expecting a shower or sprinkle or anything like that.

I registered at BRU for myself and my mom wanted me to as well just so we could keep track of stuff. I don't need any the real big stuff but I need bottles, pacifers, rock n play, bath towels, breast pump parts and some other small stuff. As I buy stuff even if its not from BRU I just mark in online as purchased. Its a great way to keep track.

Of course it's fine! You don't have to announce it to anyone, but it's a great way to keep track of everything you need. And I find that many people will want to buy the baby a gift whether or not you have a sprinkle/shower and will check to see if there's anything you specifically need or want instead of just buying something random.

For me, it's much easier to have a visual of what we need like on a registry than to have a list of things. I made a registry to note everything we need this time. It's MUCH smaller than my first baby's registry since we have almost all of the big stuff. Plus, we are getting a double stroller that you can't ever apply a coupon on to, but they will take 10% off it with the registry completion, so that's the only way we'll get a better deal on it.

Re: Is it ok to register when pregnant with #2?

I did one this time around. My DS is 14 months and it is like I just had a shower. THis 2nd one is a boy also so I have so much but there are few things I need. I made one and if anyone asks me what we need I will say I made a list. But honestly I did the list so I can use a registry completion coupon for some stuff.

SO I say do it

This is exactly what I did. I went through what I had with DD and made a registry on BBB of what I needed to keep track.

Re: Is it ok to register when pregnant with #2?

I think I might ~ for the completion coupon/goodie bag and to organize the things I need ~ I don't need to much but I need some essentials. I do need a couple of bigger things (like a new high chair ~ my son's straps broke) so maybe I can use the coupon for that.

(I won't tell anyone and I don't expect a sprinkle or anything)

i am going to register for this baby (my 2nd).
its mostly for my MIL(i dont think anyone else will bother to use it), she always asks what she can get us and we if we dont tell her, she usually gets us something that we dont want/need/ or is not our taste. i figure ill tell her about the registry and she can look at it. i will mainly be registering for big items so at that point she can decide if she wants to splurge.

Yes do it. Even if noone buys off it. You'll get coupons and 10% items off your registry after due date.

Register for the things you know you will need and it will help you keep track of everything... and if anyone asks if you want/need anything for the baby, just tell them you are registered at X place.

i would do it if only for organizational purposes for yourself. Otherwise it's totally tacky IMO.

I did. But, also didn't have shower with first-- people just send gifts off of the registry after baby is born.

I registered with #2 and I'll register again with #3. I don't tell anyone where I register and other than answering when asked I keep it quiet. I register to keep track of what I need but more specifically for the goodie bag and completion discount Chat Icon

I know people that had full-on showers with their second. Registering isn't strange.

Re: Is it ok to register when pregnant with #2?

Absolutely. I always check BBB and BRU registries when someone I know has a baby and I am getting a gift. I would rather give or send something I know they need or want.
