Should my doctor test my progesterone level?
I have been trying to conceive a second child for about 18 months and had two failed IUIs. Before I had my daughter, I had a miscarriage from low progesterone. Then when I got pregnant with my daughter I also had low progesterone and my ob put me on progesterone suppositories. My fertility specialist has yet to check my progesterone levels. Should this be something that he is checking now or do doctors do it later on? Not sure how to proceed.

Re: Should my doctor test my progesterone level?
I havent ever had mine checked until after a +HPT, but if you already have a documented history of it i think you should ask for a prescription...

Re: Should my doctor test my progesterone level?
I had low progesterone with my DD and in other pregnancies where I miscarried. I always have my level checked as a precaution. I am actually going in on Fri for a progesterone check which will be one week after my IUI.

I'm surprised to hear that. I went to NSUH and they checked my progesterone with each of my betas. My main Dr was Hershlag.
Why not ask your Dr to check?

My RE always checks my progesterone levels 1 week after ovulation. I would request that they check it for you... it's nothing more than a quick bloodtest.

Are you sure they aren't checking your progesterone levels? If they're taking blood tests, chances are they are checking. Maybe they're just not telling you?

Re: Should my doctor test my progesterone level?
Nope, everytime I had the IUI I have never had blood drawn after the IUI or a few days after ovulation. I will definitely ask him this month to do so.
