So were going to do an IUI. What is the procedure like?

Quick and painless. Very similiar feel to getting a pap smear. Honestly, the most annoying part for me is coordinating it with DH's day off so he can give his sample.

Thank you! Shaun already called his boss and told them he'll have to leave early one day this week. Most likely Tuesday, which is is Birthday. I kind of feel bad making him do this on his BDAY lol

Good luck!! Like everyone said, quick and easy. Less than a 5 min procedure and all you feel is slight cramping for a minute. No biggie.

Super quick and painless like the PP said.. however if your DH can't be there, he can always produce the sample there an hour before your scheduled IUI, or you can take the sample with you..

Both mine were painless and over in seconds. The most stress about IUI is the timing and trying to get the schedule to work for DH.

I have had 2 and for me since I have had procedures on my cervix they have been painful but since its over in a couple of min I just stuck it out...lots of luck!!!

I can't even remember doing IUI's, it's been so long!
Pretty simple procedure, painless and quick. Make sure to turn the "Musak" (music) on and lay for a couple of songs worth of time!

Actually yes lol one of his bosses is my BIL and he knows the deal but when he told the other guy it gave me the creeps lol

Hey Ang! It's quick, painless, and it becomes "old hat" real quick.
When you had your HSG, did the catheter go in ok? If they had to take some extra time because of a curved cervix, then you have to tell the Dr. doing your iui ahead of time so they can use the more flexible catheter.
DH gives a sample, and after it's washed you come back for the iui. It has the SA numbers right on it. Strip waist down, gown on feet in stirrups. They put the speculum in, then insert the catheter, and inject the sample in. Then they do your basic internal sono to show you where the sample went, and to make sure it's in the right place 
Then you lie there for 5-10 minutes, and that's it!
