What to use to clean Stainless steel appliances?
I know this has been posted many times before, but now that I have stainless appliances I need to know--how do I keep them nice looking.
Do I need to know what type of SS I have? Like for example, some are magnetic or not or no fingerprint--does it matter?
Because I don't know what I have. How can I find out what type I have? I remember asking the sales person in PC Richard and he said most brands are going with making them that show no fingerprints.
TIA

Re: What to use to clean Stainless steel appliances?
This link below is a great resource from SubZero Wolf about cleaning stainless. They recommend using a lint free microfiber cloth and a stainless steel cleaner to remove food stains. Then apply a polish to maintain luster and protect the surface. Apply cleaner and polish in the same direction as the grain. See their link for recommended polishes & cleaners - they list a few brands.

It was recommended to use Method's stainless cleaner with a microfiber cloth and rub in the direction of the grain.

I use these as well, and they work wonders. I tried the polish first and it always came out streaky.

Sheila Shine, found in hardware stores. Also, WD-40. Both work very well.
Damp microfiber clothes are good for taking off any dirt. Buy them in bulk in auto supply areas of big box stores. A dozen cost very little. They are excellent for all sorts of house work.
They are also great for cleaning bird cages. If anyone has a parrot, they know what that means
