Furniture Shopping
I'm looking for furniture store suggestions. I want a new bedroom set and have slowly been looking. DH and I are in an apt and our options are to buy a less expensive set now and upgrade when we buy a house or just buy the forever set now. We're leaning towards getting a less expensive set and using it in a guest bedroom and buying something more expensive later on.
I've looked at Raymour and Flannigan, Macy's online. I'm just not that familiar with other places but don't want to be limited to just a couple of places. It would also be helpful for when we want to buy other furniture, not just a bedroom set.
TIA!

Re: Furniture Shopping
honestly, i got the most luck at Bob's furniture. we bought a couple of pieces from raymour and flanigan, but the majority of stuff (including our bedroom set) came from bobs
we actually wound up buying a bedframe from them and then bought two dressers and two nightstands that were part of the "junior" set because our master is so small in our house

Lisa is that you??
We found our furniture at Ashley in Carle Place. The one on Rte 110 - not so nice customer service.
Also, if you aren't looking for your "forever furniture" Bobs is a great option. I will be going there for my guest room furniture

Re: Furniture Shopping
Do this... Find a set you like in any store and then go online to highpointfurnituresales.com and see if you can get a quote on the set. You will save a ton of money by buying down south. I had no issues with the company. Set was delievered within 5 weeks I believe and fully assembled in my bedroom. Not to mention how pleasant everyone is down there! Ps: my set is from Ashley and I saved about 1k by buying it from the south.

I bought my bedroom set in South Carolina at Carolina Rustica, I saved so much money and it came really quick.
I bought my living room set from Peter Andrews, and its Ashley Furniture brand

Re: Furniture Shopping
Thanks for the replies everyone.
For those that have bought in High Point, have you made the trip or online as a previous poster? Just wondering what your experience has been.
I have to say I'm finding furniture shopping incredibly frustrating between not really knowing where to go and just making a decision on what to buy. It feels like we're never going to find anything and if we finally buy, that I'll be settling in order to just buy something. I can't imagine what house hunting will be like, if I'm having this much difficulty just picking furniture!

I ordered over the phone after receiving my quote over the phone as well. They are rated very highly on BBB. Check these ratings from wherever you may get your furniture. It will save you lots of headaches!!
And take your time shopping! Dh & I went to every store known to man and spent many weekends trying to find what we wanted. Patience is key
