New England recs
Dh and I plan to do a driving tour of New Enland this summer. For those that have done this sort of tour what stops were essential ? Were there any b and bs you loved ? We will have 9 days and would go anywhere in the region.

Re: New England recs
My ex and I really liked Kennebunkport, Maine. We stayed at a place called the 1802 inn and I definitely recommend it.
There is not a ton to do but it was very relaxing. You could also do day trips from there to towns like Freeport or cities like Portland.
I'm also a big fan of Boston. It has the amenities of the city but it isn't as hectic as NYC.
I also love Vermont. The Ben and Jerry's factory is a fun time and depending on where you go there is a ton of other stuff to do.
I love New England and have done a few short trips up there recently. I could go on but need to run now. FM if you want any more info.

BAR HARBOR, MAINE!!!
It is, to this day, one of my fave places!
Check out the whale watching, have lobster!, and definitely take a tour of Acadia National Park.
Supposedly, Maine is very known for their duck... I know lobster is a big draw too, but they have a big reputation for delicious duck.
I know Boston is beautiful as well.
My biggest rec aside from Bar Harbor is Quebec but I know that might be a little too far out of your 'realm' of travel. But Quebec City just took my breath away - it is like a mini Paris.

I loved Newport. The Breakers was beautiful and the town is so nice. Bar Harbor was cute, lots of pretty places to look over the water.

We did this one year, where we started in Kittery, MN/Portsmouth, NH, worked our way down to Boston, and then to Newport, RI.

We've been there several times and love it. It's a haul though so I would spend several days there. If you like hiking, the trails are great and there are tons of gorgeous views from different peaks.
