Ideas for family travelling TO NY?
My 22 y/o cousin is hoping to come visit us this summer. He'll stay with us. He wants to know how much money he'll need, and asked me to help him plan.
I know he wants to: See Book of Mormon (which I'll actually gladly pay for as a gift) Go to TV show tapings Empire State Bldg Maybe View restaurant.
Any other ideas of things for us to do?
He's worried about saving enough money to make the trip. I kind of want to just tell him to come and we'll pay for everything, but then he won't come if I tell him that.
Can you give me some ideas of things a 22 y/o guy (into TV and radio, no sports), would want to do in NY and how much it would cost.
He wants to do thinks he can't do at home in CO, so he shot down my comedy club idea.

Re: Ideas for family travelling TO NY?
I'm pretty sure they still do the backstage tour at 30 rock, I think he would love that! I would email for tickets to Jimmy Fallon's show now and see if you could get them (Letterman usually takes over a year to get!). The Daily Show might be hard to get too, but that's a fun one. The museum in Astoria mentioned above is supposed to be excellent as well.

Re: Ideas for family travelling TO NY?
Thanks for the ideas.
I was just at the Museum of the Moving Image on Monday. it IS great.
I'm afraid of the too touristy stuff. Like he's "too cool" for it. he doens't seem to be interested in much and I don't want to take him place he's not interested in.
Last time he was here (other than the wedding when there was no time) all the kids wanted to do was see Times Square. So we took the subway, took a few pic and they wanted to eat at the TGIFriday's. I could not convince them to do anything.
I don't know his dates but as soon as I do I am going to start the process of writing in for show taping tickets and buy tixx for Book of Mormon.
Thanks for the studio tours link. I think he would really enjoy that. He's thinking about a career in TV or Radio and was like "Why don't you live in LA?" I don't think people realize that there is actually a LOT of TV filmed in NY.
