Crashing with a ? for my sister (regarding INS coverage)
She is not a LIF member, so I told her I would post for her. Hope no one minds.
She has HIP Prime (HMO) with no IVF coverage.
Does anyone know if the meds, bloodwork, or sonos are covered under the plan? The procedure itself is not covered, but is any part of the IVF process covered?
Thanks for any information!

It will depend on her specific plan. But, if IVF is not covered, then that includes sono and b/w. It's possible, though, that the meds may be covered b/c Rx plans are usually separate from medical plans (even if they're the same insurance company).

I've had bloodwork and sonos covered by my insurance even though the IVF technically wasn't.

I have a GHI PPO that does not cover IVF, including sonos and bloodwork. However, a good portion of my meds were covered, which I was so thankful for.

she has to call HIP directly and ask them. everyone's plan is different.

I agree with this! it can vary so drastically from contract to contract.
