Disney dining ?

We are going in sept yay! Here are my questions:

if we book a dining plan and a free dining deal is offered in the future, can we get a credit? Or should I not book the dining plan yet.

Also can we book reservations in advance then do the dining plan later on?

Thank you!

Re: Disney dining ?

Good morning!

Yes, you absolutely can apply (most) new promotions to an existing reservation. Sometimes it's as simple as getting the promotion applied to your current reservation as it stands, other times you may have to make adjustments to fit the promotion - like change dates, resort, package parts, etc.

Each promotion has a certain number of rooms available for it so if you book the Grand Floridian and a promotion comes along and those rooms at the Grand are booked before you get to them, you'd have to switch resorts. Booking the Grand in advance doesn't guarantee you'll get a room there for the promotion.

You can book your room-only or room + tickets reservation and add the dining plan later or do it all now and cancel the dining plan before final payment is due (45 days before your arrival date) without penalty. After final payment, Disney can charge a change fee and if you're bringing the cost of your vacation package down with the change, they're more likely to do so.

What we do is monitor Disney for promotions and every time one is released, we check all clients' reservations against the new promotion. If it fits, we make the change, then notify the client of how much money they saved. I love sending those emails and making those phone calls! If the reservation would need some kind of modification, we contact the client, explain what would need to change (ie: arrive a day earlier) and the savings they would see by making that change, then we'll apply the promotion if that's what the client wishes.

Hope that helps!
