New here, HSG question Update!

Hi ladies! i am a semi regular poster, and I have 1 DC.
I am just starting testing , had my CD 3 bloodwork, and on Friday I need to get my HSG. Can you share your experience with having an HSG. I am scared to death after what I have read on the internet.

Thanks for all the responses ladies! I had my HSG, and my tubes are clear. It hurt, but it was over quickly.

mild cramping and that's it. Ive had it done twice and it was very mild. I was scared too because of all that I read. just take 2 advil about an hour before.
it really wasn't bad.. and I have a low threshhold for pain.
good luck!!

Re: New here, HSG question

I also experienced mild cramping. At two points during the procedure I got 2 bad cramps (they hurt but were definitely bearable). The procedure is very short. Just remember to breathe.

Unfortunately my experience was not so pleasant. My doctor prescribed a valum and percoset (spelling?) and I took 4 motrin. My side was fine but the other side hurt.

It was over in about 2 minutes and as soon as it was over I didn't feel anymore pain.

Everyone's experience is different, the most important thing is to breathe.

Its not terrible at all. It felt crampy but it wasnt bad at all. I took a valium beforehand because I was terrified too.

I went on my lunch break and was fine after, AF like cramps for like 20 seconds and it was over. You get to watch on the screen and know your results instantly.

But I didn't have any blockage, so I think it depends on that. I was told to take advil prior. Good luck!

Everyone is definitely different but I had horrible pain which started around 3 hours after the procedure and it lasted about 3 days. I had a hard time coughing, laughing, are moving quickly. The procedure itself was fine, didn't hurt at all, I went to work right after.

I agree. Please do not be terrified. Once the pain started for me, it ended. That's because the whole experience took 2 minutes.

Re: New here, HSG question

I definitely wouldn't be scared to death. It hurt a little (like a pap on steroids for me) but it was so fast and the pain was gone as soon as they were done.
