Has anyone been to Nashville??

I had some expiring Southwest travel funds, so instead of letting them go to waste I booked a long weekend in Nashville for my daughter and I. She LOVES country music so I thought it would be fun.

Can anyone recommend what to do there (besides Grand Ol' Oprry, Country Music HOF, etc.)?

yes! i took my mom there and booked everything - flight, hotel, and activies - through southwest vacations.

we took a paddle boat dinner cruise, saw a country show that also had dinner (BBQ), went to grand ol opry (so pretty), mini golfing, the mall, went to cracker barrel (have to do that anytime we are near one!), went to some apple farm/store, etc...i dont remember all the details...but look at southwest vacation website for ideas. we had a nice time!

I went this past summer and it was great.

We stayed downtown at the HIlton which was a nice hotel but, our suite overlooked the main street with all of the bars that had live music until 4am so it was hard to sleep. It was nice though to be able to walk to numerous things.


I loved the Grand Old Opry - it was really cool. If you stay downtown, you can catch a shuttle there.

We did the Country Music Hall of Fame as well which was nice (walkable if you are staying downtown).

We also saw a show at the Blue Bird Cafe where songwriters perform. It was a bit of a hike though - I would only do that if you rented a car.

We had breakfast at the Pancake Pantry by Vanderbilt which was fabulous. Make sure if you go there to get there early since otherwise you wait in line.

We also went to the Parthenon which was interesting.
