Refi Q but Family Related

We are going to refinance our house. We are paying the principle down by 50% and the rates our lower.

15 year moartgage would save us soooo much money and still decrease our monthly payment.

30 yr mortgage would drastically cut our monthly payment and may also allow me to work part time when we start a family. Our plan would still be to pay the mortgage off earlier.

I work nights. My husband works business hours but it's questionable if he's going to have to start working weekends. Which, when we have kids will make it so difficult for me to work around his schedule. Then we'd have to pay for childcare anyway. If I'm part time, we wouldn't need daycare.

The problem is Dh and I never agree... even when we change our minds!!! Just wanted to know what others think.

Thanks ladies! Bethpage actually has a 20year that DH and I thought was the perfect compromise. Now just starting the application process again.

We are going to refinance on a 20 year. We have 23 years to go now on our mortgage.

We will save about 2.5 years by doing that and reduce our monthly payments.

15 years is just too much commitment with everything we have to do in our life.
