Stupid questions about air travel and what I can bring on board for business
It's been two years since I have flown, so lots of things have changed. And this is my first time traveling for business, so I am a rookie.
Laptops are 'approved electronic devices' once you get to cruising altitude right? Is there wifi on board?
Anything from the laptop that I can't bring on? If I am stuck in the airport, I want my charging cord. Cords are allowed right?
My camera bag also needs to be brought on board. Can I have my laptop bag and my camera bag? (Camera bag is about the size of a diaper bag and the laptop bag is a backpack.) Or do I have to combine into one? (I will not have a purse, so do they still allow one 'personal item' and one carry on?)
Can I let the flight attendents know that I want to store my camera bag last, so it doesn't get crushed by luggage? Or is there a secret place for delicate equipment? (I know they have 'secret places' for wedding gowns and stuff.
TIA for your help!

Usually it's 1 carryon, 1 personal item.
I don't know about the camera. Mine just got crushed as a carry on in a recent flight (so sad!).
If you can combine them and get both under the seat, that's ideal, or put the laptop bag in the overhead and the camera under the seat. You'll just have to get up to get it out after takeoff and before landing.

Re: Stupid questions about air travel and what I can bring on board for business
not all planes have WiFi... i would check with the airline before you leave...
you are allowed 1 carry-on and 1 personal item.. normally a laptop bag, purse, dipper bag etc all count as your "personal item" so if you have a laptop bag & camera bag thats your 2 right there...
DW and I just came back from Aruba.. we had 1 portable DVD player, 2 tablets and 3 digital cameras with all the charging cords necessary in 1 "personal bag" carry on.. no problems... you will have to take the laptop/tablet etc out of its bag and put it through the x-ray by itself...
and yes laptops are an "approved device" you can use them once they make the announcement.
